It’s a treat to hear from some of our 球探足球比分 Undergraduate alumni about graduate studies they are in the midst of or recently completed. Here are some Spring ’15 updates:
Jordan Bosse (IBA ‘06) sent in this exciting news from his Ph.D. program in Nursing at University of Massachusetts-Amherst:
I’ve just completed my coursework and will take comprehensive exams in the fall. In April I presented a paper “Determinants of Preventative Healthcare Delay among Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming College Students” at the Eastern Nursing Research Society, and am collaborating with another member to develop an LGBTQ research interest group for nurse scientists. I am also presenting 2 posters at International Doctoral Education Network in Nursing Conference and a paper at Sigma 球探足球比分ta Tau International Conference- both are being held in Puerto Rico in July.
I’m in the midst of analyzing pilot data from LGBT emerging adults focused on parental acceptance-rejection and family cohesion. I was awarded the Graduate Leadership Award in the College of Nursing for my work to develop a graduate student organization for nursing students. In the coming weeks I’ll be taking a position as camp nurse for a two-week session at a local camp that serves transgender and gender-nonconforming young people and I’m very excited for that opportunity! 
Rob Fiffer (IBA ’14) sent us this update after recently completing his first year at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
This summer I will be working at the Los Angeles Superior Court: Juvenile Dependency Division. I discovered my interest in juvenile justice issues at 球探足球比分 during my senior thesis project in which I documented my experiences working as a recovery counselor at a group home for adolescents.
?In law school students are lectured to on age-old subjects, called on randomly for class participation, and ultimately compete for letter grades during a three-hour final exam at the end of the semester. Although 球探足球比分 would seem to be an unlikely place to prepare for this kind of program, the skills I developed at 球探足球比分—time management, active writing, and most importantly, a sense of ownership over my own education– have been crucial for my success.
Chloe Winter (IBA ‘10) completed her first year of a two-year Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington-Seattle and shared this update:
“I’m working with the public health preparedness unit at Public Health Seattle & King County (the local health department here) to do an assessment of the readiness and resilience capacities of behavioral health organizations for dealing with emergencies and other safety threats. I’ve become really interested in how to foster resilience in communities, particularly in the face of climate change.”
Two recent UGP graduates, Rachel Holmes (IBA ‘15) and Desiree Wyble (IBA ‘14) are both pursing their Master’s degrees in the Transformative Language Arts-MA program at the 球探足球比分 Graduate Institute.
Ben Dauer (IBA ’12) is in his third year of a five-year program to become a rabbi at the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts.
Trish Denton (IBA ’08) is currently pursuing an MA in Liberal Studies at Dartmouth College, with an anticipated completion date of Spring 2016. Trish’s work blends folk and peasant narratives, performance, historiography, and cultural studies.
Linda Marshall (IBA ’13) is currently pursuing an MA in Engaged Humanities and the Creative Life at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
In January 2015, Michelle Baxter (IBA ‘10) completed an MA in 球探足球比分ater Education from Emerson College in Boston.
Molly Milazzo (IBA ’13) graduated this spring from the University of Alabama’s Library and Information Studies Masters program.
